Undertow

okay! this was a sort of request/commission from last unorigonal thing before something origonal, i swear!!! lol but, i came up with the concept and stuff, she just wanted me to do a mermaid. so, i did! i came up with the idea of doing the arms of the water, pulling a mermaid under, like the undertow of water, tugging, pushing, and pulling. This was sort of shunpei inspired. i love their work and saw their designs and wanted to incorporate some on this. that's why the tail's the way it is. it starts out as a whole and emerges into a fin. Then the hair's got a swirly pattern too. i wanted the fish and flower in her hair to be the same pattern on her tail. and then the polka dot background was brought up, when i found no colorless blender on the face of the planet can freaking blotch...or maybe i've lost the ability to? so i just decided to do polka dots to go with the pattern-theme. i made it very dark at the bottom to show the deepness of the water.

time: about 2 weeks? 1?? well it took me 1 week to come up with everything and then 1 week to get it down on paper so consider it what u want. XDD

oh yeah and i forgot to include that the way i colored the arms was sort of a life-saver, or a critisism saver. my mother, being the potty-humored person she is, thought that the lineart looked like a giant orgy...:/ LOL luckily i didn't include any legs. but she said that once i colored them blue they looked like the arms and hands of the water so for some reason i just wanted to tell you guys that it doesn't look like an orgy anymore and i'm very happy for that...
