Hey guys!! I'm sorry I haven't been active lately. Been on Spring Break, where I was working on this. Well, I finished this on Thursday and I was initially really proud of it until the scanner screwed it up. Anyway the lineart was done before Ink, which is why the style is more like The Mechanic. But, I hope you like it! To get the effect with all the monsters and things coming out of the box I airbrushed it with multiple colors then blotched it, which was fun. Lovvvee to blotch. Irl it's much more lively and free flowing. For some reason when I scanned it all the blotching was suddenly inside the lines...?? LOL I don't know, I'd like that any other time but now. I was very inspired by D.Gray-Man and kimonos when I drew this. Sorry to make her look slut-ish with nothing under her kimono...but for some reason I think a kimono over skin gives a kind of raw and nude-ish beauty. D: I dunno okay? I just like it that way lol But yeah I've always been inspired by Pandora's Box. I've always loved that convept and I hope you like my rendition!!
Enough of my rants. D:
Hope ya liek!

Your drawing is really beautiful and very, very original. There is an impact to see this drawing, a clear meaning to the story and the technique is really amazing(I agree with you, blotching IS quite fun and a very interesting way to paint and create a picture) You could have used a dark background, instead of the white, which would have given us a more darker impact. I admire the way you made the apple stand out and the irony is amusing. Since in the Bible, it's the apple that is forbidden and the reason of the exile, in here you made the apple the hope, and I like it. I also agree with you in the raw beauty part. Beauty comes from within, not from fashion clothes and make-up. And Pandora doesn't look slutty at all. To improve, I would once again, ask you to use a background and maybe change the coloring of Pandora's dress. Since you painted the evil beings purple and black, why not use innocent colors on Pandora, like white and light blue? Coloring does give off a vibe to the picture. Well done on this picture and keep up the good work!
I love D.Gray man, I can totally cit in this pic as well! An I totally agree about the kimono and natural beauty. I wanted to do a pandora's box inspired drawing as well, but I ddnt kno where to begin lol
Haha thanks very much! I don't know what it is about it, but kimonos are so beautiful XD It's a hard concept to wrap your head around enough to get started, but if you find something about it to relate to, it'll just come to you
